Terms

The short version

Kalori is a food diary. Use it for that, be decent to the people you follow, and don’t treat it as medical advice.

There is no tolerance for abusive behaviour or objectionable content. Accounts that post it are removed.

Agreeing to this

Using Kalori means accepting these terms. If you don’t accept them, don’t use the app — and if you already have an account, delete it under Settings → Delete your account.

These terms are between you and Kalori. Apple is not a party to them.

Your licence

You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Kalori on any Apple-branded device you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not sell, rent, sublicense, reverse-engineer or redistribute it.

The licence is limited to the device — it does not transfer with a sold phone, though your own account follows you.

Kalori is not medical advice

Calorie targets, macro splits, burn estimates and weight projections are estimates produced from the numbers you enter. They are not a diagnosis, a prescription or a treatment plan.

Talk to a clinician before making significant changes to how you eat, and especially if you are pregnant, managing a medical condition, under 18, or have any history of disordered eating.

Food and exercise figures come from public databases and formulas. They will sometimes be wrong. Do not rely on them where accuracy matters medically.

Who can use it

You must be at least 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian has to agree to these terms on your behalf.

One account per person. Don’t impersonate anyone, and don’t pick a handle designed to look like someone else.

What you may not post

Kalori’s social features exist to encourage people. There is no tolerance for anything else, and specifically none for:

Harassment, bullying, threats, or targeting anyone with abuse.

Hate speech, or content attacking people over race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, age or sexual orientation.

Sexual content, graphic violence, or anything illegal.

Content promoting self-harm, eating disorders, extreme restriction, purging, or presenting these as goals to aspire to. This app measures food. That makes it a place where such content does real harm, and it is removed on sight.

Impersonation, spam, scams, or anything designed to mislead.

Anything that isn’t yours to post.

Reporting, blocking and enforcement

Every post carries a report action, and blocking is immediate — it works in both directions, so neither of you sees the other again, and it does not wait on anyone reviewing anything.

Reports are reviewed within 24 hours. Content that breaks the rules above is removed, and the account that posted it may be suspended or deleted without notice or refund.

Serious cases are reported to the relevant authorities.

Report anything at infokalori@gmail.com if you would rather not use the in-app action.

Your content

What you post stays yours. You give Kalori permission to store and display it to the people you have chosen to share it with — nothing wider, and only for as long as you keep it up.

You are responsible for what you share. Your diary is never shared automatically: what goes out is a line you tap to send.

Your account

Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Delete it whenever you like, from Settings → Delete your account. That erases the diary on your phone and your account with it.

What Kalori doesn’t promise

The app is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. It may be unavailable, lose data, or get things wrong.

Kalori is not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud — those cannot be excluded.

Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply only as far as the law permits.

Apple’s part in this

Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for Kalori.

If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price. Beyond that, Apple has no warranty obligation whatsoever.

Apple is not responsible for addressing claims relating to the app — including product liability, any failure to meet a legal requirement, and consumer protection or privacy claims.

If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property, Kalori, not Apple, is responsible for that claim.

You confirm you are not in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting, and are not on any US Government prohibited-parties list.

Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Ending it

You can stop using Kalori at any time by deleting your account or the app.

Kalori may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. The sections that should outlive the agreement — content rules, disclaimers, liability — do.

Changes, law and contact

If these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Continuing to use Kalori means accepting the new version.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
